Here is an example of one of the YouTube videos I have created that combines many aspects of my experience in film production, including everything from lighting and camera, sound recording and mixing, 3D modelling and animation, music scoring and production, editing and sound design, research and writing, to on-camera performance. This is basically a proof of concept for a series of informative videos outlining the creation of many classic Star Wars props, something that I have had a great passion for over the last 20+ years.

I painstakingly researched and replicated down to the smallest detail the belt worn by Darth Vader in the original Star Wars film and produced a run of replicas for use by costumers and collectors all over the world. I created every part of these replicas myself including the leather work, the metal fabrication, the machining work, the electronics wiring, the painting and weathering, and the precision assembly. My keen eye for detail and passion for seeing a project done right have made my replicas very sought after items on various online costuming communities.

More documenting of my dabbling in the world of props and costumes can be seen on my Instagram account here: Cantina Dude
I created the screen name "Cantina Dude" about 20 years ago when first getting into the online Star Wars prop replica scene and I have formed it into a bit of a persona under which to play around in that sandbox! |

With the current accessibility of powerful 3D software like "Blender" I have been drawn towards to world of 3D modelling and animation in recent years. Be it photorealistic images, integrated CG visual effects, or cartoonish abstractions, this field has great potential for creative exploration. Here are a few examples of 3D projects I have created.

In 2012 I started a Beatles tribute band called "The Day Trippers" to express my love of The Beatles' music and bring a fun and entertaining performance to stages all around the province. I took on the task of researching and sourcing all the period accurate instruments and costuming to create the on-stage presence that audiences would love and as a band we crafted an authentic performance to get people dancing and singing along. We haven't been able to perform in almost two years due to the pandemic, but playing music continues to be a huge part of my life. You can learn more about the band here: The Day Trippers

After attending the Vancouver Film School (in the Film Production program followed by the Sound Design for Visual Media program) I spent several years working in the local industry with a focus on sound recording, mixing, and post-production design. Some of my time in the industry included working on dramatic shorts and features but I also had experience on documentary films and television series in various capacities. While much of my work in the industry was in uncredited roles, a portion of my film credits are outlined in my IMDB listing here: www.imdb.com
